Wacky Wolf Explorer has been put together to provide information related to touring and exploring in a campervan, mainly in the UK to start with, and then hopefully extending to various parts of Europe. We want to provide some first hand information about the places to visit, including the national parks, the mountain areas such as the Brecon Beacons, Cambrian Mountains, Snowdonia, Peak and Lake District, and north into the Cairngorms, Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Also any other areas across the UK we travel to or through.
The VanLife section is aimed at providing ideas, information and tips on campervan kit, and the practicalities of living in a van while touring for just weekends or longer periods.
The Outdoors section is the place to show the activities we've been up to, or seen happening in all the locations, such as walking, hiking, scrambling, climbing and watersports.
There's a separate section on cooking in a campervan as it requires some thought to use a limited cooking set up such as a couple of hobs only. Some vans come with gas hobs, grills and ovens, but many don't and so some creativity is needed to cook great food. Vans can have fridges built in which makes storing perishable food much easier, but if not them that adds another layer of things to consider.
Then there's some specific sections focusing on Parkups that we have either stayed at or seen for ourselves. And there's a section on camp sites as they can be useful sometimes, although we try to avoid them as much as possible. Sometimes you need the facilities on a campsite, especially in the UK where disposing of black waste and getting other supplies and services is not easy.
